After being subbed off at halftime in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Lucas Torreira suffered a muscle injury.
The Uruguayan started the game at the heart of midfield alongside Granit Xhaka and had another decent performance that earned him Arsenal's December Player of the Month award.
Torreira failed to come off the tunnel for the second half as he was replaced by Matteo Guendouzi with Arsenal blowing a one-goal lead to draw courtesy of a Jordan Ayew goal.
Speaking in a press conference after the draw against Palace, Arteta revealed why he subbed off Torreira, "Matteo was really good when he came on as well, but Lucas has been in good form.
"He's given us a lot but I had to get him off because he wasn't feeling good. It's a muscle injury. We'll have to assess it with the doctors tomorrow. We will know more the day after."
The extent of his injury is yet to be determined with a time frame set to be provided after undergoing a scan on Monday.
