Green Eagles have moved to the summit of the log following a one-nil win over Forest Rangers while Napsa Stars' bad patch has continued as they failed to collect maximum points for a third successive match.
The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 17 this afternoon with six matches taking place across the country.
SAUTU STRIKE TAKES EAGLES TOP
Green Eagles traveled to Ndola to face in-form Forest Rangers in an early kick-off at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Spencer Sautu scored the only goal of the match in the second half to send the Kawale Boys to the summit with 33 points equal with Nkana who have an inferior goal difference.
Forest Rangers came close in the first half with debutant Lameck Silwaba's effort being cleared off the line but in the end, Eagles walked away with all three points.
In the second match of the day Nkwazi came from a goal down to hold Buildcon. Eric Owusu put the hosts in the lead in the 56th minute but Michael Bwalya leveled matters 18 minutes later to make sure the two sides shared the spoils.
NAPSA STARS FAIL TO WIN AGAIN
Napsa Stars failed to pick up maximum points for a third straight match. Having lost back to back games the pensioners were looking to get back to winning ways when they welcomed Green Buffaloes at Woodlands Stadium.
Gideon Sichone put Buffaloes in the lead after just 19 minutes but Simon Nkhata leveled matters a minute before halftime as the teams went to the break level.
Stephen Kabamba put Buffaloes back in the lead just eight minutes into the second half but Luka Banda pulled Napsa Stars level 15 minutes later to make sure the two teams walked away with a point each.
The draw means Napsa Stars have picked up just a single point from a possible nine and drop to third place.
BABA BASILE ON TARGET AGAIN
Baba Basile has continued with his fine form as he scored the opener to help Lusaka dynamos to a 2-0 win over Nakambala Leopards away in Mazabuka.
Aubrey Funga scored the other goal as Lusaka Dynamos moved to 10th place with 22 points following a comfortable 2-0 win over the sweet Boys.

Nkana recorded their third straight win as they beat KYSA 1-0 thanks to a Fred Tshimenga lone strike. Lumwana Radiants also edged Kansanshi Dynamos in the first-ever Mabanga derby thanks to a Chaniza Zulu lone strike.
