Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko has dropped former Kariobangi Sharks striker George Abege the club has confirmed.
Abege joined the Hedgehog Warriors on a three-year deal in July 2019 from Sharks after a good outing against them in the CAF Confederations Cup.
It is reported that Abege was amongst the highest earners in the league with Kotoko dropping him after failing to adapt to the team.
The Ugandan was heavily linked with a loan move but they could not find a club for him according to reports from Ghanaian tabloids.
Ghana Soccer Web reports claim that last week, Abege demanded to be paid six months accumulated salary as compensation before terminating his contract with the club but the club was willing to pay a three-month salary payoff which was rejected by the striker.
