Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has committed his immediate future to the north London side revealing Mikel Arteta has put faith in him.
Under Unai Emery, Ozil was linked with a move away from Arsenal but the arrival of Arteta seems to have changed the midfielder's mind. The former Real Madrid man now insists the club has been given a lift by the new boss, who has put faith in Ozil after Emery had removed him from the first-team picture.
"I am very pleased with my contract that will continue here this year and the year after," he said.
"I can't tell you what the future will bring, I'm excited about the future, but I don't know what's going to happen."
"Everything about him is positive. Arteta's story is a bit different because I don't remember when she quit football, but it hasn't been over that long. In this way, players can understand more easily."
Ozil, who earns £350,000-a-week is yet to extend his stay at the Emirates with his current contract set to expire at the end of next season.
