Wazito FC have confirmed the signing of Alvin Ochieng and Roland Ashimoto from Kisumu All Stars and Kakamega High School respectively on long-term deals.
Ochieng 'Chicha' has been with All Stars for the last two seasons and will be competing with another January arrival Dennis Sikhayi for the right-back position. The teenager is a Kenya U20 player who was part of the team that reached the CECAFA U20 Championship final in Uganda last year.
Meanwhile, Ashimoto signs for Wazito straight from high school having played a key role for football power-house Kakamega High.
Speaking after the duo joined Wazito, the club's CEO said, "I want to welcome Chicha and Roland to the team. They are two young quality players and they definitely make us stronger. They trained with the team for a couple of days under the watchful eye of our head coach. He was impressed and he Okayed their signing."
"As a team, we are not only thinking about the present but also, the future and that’s why we are trying to get the best young players around. My message to them is that they should not shy off, they should compete for a place in the squad, they have an equal chance of being starters in the team."
The pair joins Dennis Sikhayi, Dennis Ng'ang'a, Kennedy Owino, Whyvonne Isuza and Issifou Bourhana in the team.
