Zesco United head coach George Lwandamina says his team played well despite suffering a one-nil loss at the hands of Nkwazi on Wednesday.
Lwadamina believes his team only lost concentration and conceded a goal. Lwandamina was also quick to praise Nkwazi's defending.
"It was not all that difficult, I know the result will tell that it was difficult but we just lost concentration and gave them a goal, That's all they did and we tried to come back but they were strong and everyone was behind the ball, It seems that's the football against Zesco so it became very difficult but the boys played very well," he said.
Lwandamina believes the hectic schedule that has seen them playing on weekends and in midweek has affected them with players being very exhausted from the intensity of matches and the hectic traveling.
The Ndola based outfit has only won one of their last five games but Lwandamina believes its only a phase and it will pass.
" If you saw the composition of today's team it was slightly different from the usual starters it was in the same vein that we give others a bit of rest looking at the intensity of the game in Egypt. It has an effect but the results we are getting are just a phase," he said.
"They understand, These are Champions and they have been in this position before. They are trying and want to get the best result out these games but we find ourselves in the same predicament but they are not losing hope and they have what it takes to come out of it. The players know that we are the team to beat so going through such they know it will pass."
Zesco United continued their poor run of form as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nkwazi. Next for the defending Champions is another trip to Lusaka to face Sensational Zanaco on Sunday.
