Mourinho: Eriksen's future needs sorting

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho says Christian Eriksen's future needs to be sorted.

Eriksen's contract with Spurs is set to expire at the end of the current season with reports suggesting he is set to move to Serie A  club Inter Milan. The Dan is on the bench today against Watford with his future up in the air, perhaps that's no surprise and Mourinho certainly thinks it needs sorting.

"I put myself in the player's position and I think he needs January 31 to come and to be sure that he is going to stay until the end of the season or before January 31 to know that he is leaving. I think it is difficult for a player to be in this situation where it is 'today I am here, tomorrow I don't know if I am'," he said.

"If he is here on January 31 he will know that he will be here on February 1, he will know that he will be committed with the club, with the fans, with everyone until the end of the season. He had a conversation with me on day one and on day one I knew clearly what he wanted to do.

The north London side has not received a transfer bid for Eriksen and the midfielder will play against Watford on Saturday, according to Mourinho.
