Ugandan prodigy Joel Madondo on Saturday bid an emotional farewell to his boyhood club Busoga United FC as he departs to join Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
Madondo was back in Jinja after clinching a three-and-half year deal with the Moroccan side. The forward had come to back to say goodbye to his teammates, coaches and fans.
He was in the stands at Mighty Arena as his former side beat visiting Mbarara City in a Ugandan Premier League match. Another local lad Lawrence Tezikya was the hero of the day as he scored the all-important goal.

Madondo was the hero as Uganda Cranes beat Eritrea 1-0 to clinch the 2019 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kampala.
He will join his fellow countryman Patrick Kaddu in Morocco. Kaddu plies his trade at RS Berkhane in the top-flight league. Another Ugandan Murshid Juuko went missing at his Raja Athletic club.
