Following a long term injury to Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi has urged new Barcelona boss Quique Setien to make a bid for Sergio Aguero.
According to reports in Spain, Messi was summoned for a one-on-one meeting with Setien after the former Betis coach took over his first training session last week.
It is reported that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner told his new boss that Manchester City talisman Aguero is the perfect player to replace injured Luis Suarez.
Suarez was sidelined for at least four months following a knee surgery after bagging 14 goals in 23 games this season with eleven of those goals coming in the league; the other three in the Champions League.
Aguero has scored 249 goals for City since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2011 with his current contract at the Etihad expiring in the summer of 2021.
