Liverpool open to selling Xherdan Shaqiri for €30m

European champions Liverpool are willing to let Swiss attacker Xherdan Shaqiri leave in the summer for €30m.

Liverpool journalist James Pearce reported on Tuesday that manager Jurgen Klopp will thwart any attempt from any club to get the player on a loan deal this January as he feels he still has a role to play in the season should anything happen to Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah.

Shaqiri has been a target for both AS Roma and Sevilla in the January window as the Swiss international seeks for a move to a team that can offer him more playing time.

The winger has only made nine appearances this season for the Reds and the arrival of Takumi Minamino has complicated his situation with the player said to be planning for a future elsewhere.

Klopp had already confirmed that no first-team player will leave the club this January as the German tries to keep a team together as they seek to win the league title for the first time in 30 years.

Reports had indicated that AC Milan had enquired about the availability of the player with the Serie A club said to have been interested in a loan deal but the Merseyside club rejected the offer.
