Zambia Super League defending Champions, Zesco United have released three foreign players, Futaa Zambia understands.
The three are Japanese midfielder Kosuke Nakamachi, Nigerian winger Quadri Kola and Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba. The trio has been deemed as excess and not good enough for the eight-time Super League Champions.
Nakamachi turned down a two-year contract extension with the J. League first division side F. Marinos in favor of a move to the Zambia Super League in February 2019 but has failed to really adapt and make any impact at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Kasumba joined the Ndola based outfit in July 2019 and was views as a replacement for Lazarus Kambole but has however failed to tick.
Prior to his arrival at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Kasumba was very lethal in Kanya where he plied his trade at Sofapaka and scored 12 goals in 12 appearances at the same time making 6 assists to guide his club to second place.
During his last season in Kenya, Kasumba seventeen goals and managed five assists for his club. Kasumba ended the season as the third-highest goalscorer behind Enoch Ochieng (20) and Allan Wetende Wanga while his club Sofapaka finished third, ten points behind champions Gor Mahia while missing out on a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup by just two points to Bandari FC.
