Wazito FC 2-1 Western Stima: Masika's stoppage time solo goal dims Power Men in Narok

Wazito's winless run came to an end on Saturday evening after beating Western Stima 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League staged at Narok County Stadium.

Augustine Otu gave Wazito the lead in the second half before Kevin Omundi leveled the scores for Stima. However, with seconds remaining to full time, Musa Masika made a brilliant run before grabbing the winning goal for Stewart Hall's men.

Wazito had a brilliant start to the match, seeing much of the possession but could not break Stima's defence who were playing cautiously. The first chance for the hosts came after seven minutes of play as Augustine Otu was put through by Derrick Otanga but was sandwiched by Stima defence as he tried his first shot on goal and Samuel Njau made an easy save.

The Power Men responded in the 19th minute after Wazito FC defence lost concentration and the ball fell to Kevin Omondi whose brilliant strike missed the target by inches.

Musa Masika made a run on the right win, dribbled past two Stima defender before delivering a beautiful cross to Otu, who only had one thing to do and that is putting the ball at the back of the net. However, his touch with his left foot went wide. Huge miss.

In the second half, Stima started with the intent to take the lead. Bixente Otieno became a busy man back to back denied Stima's forward. However, Wazito took the lead from a beautiful counter-attack. Musa Masika's beautiful backheel went to Dennis Ngang'as path who worked the ball on the left before delivering a cross. The ball met Otu after Stima's defence failed to clear the danger and Njau was beaten.

Omundi goal

A beautiful ball was released from the midfield and Kevin Omundi was put through on goal. He made a run on the left and had only the goalkeeper to beat and made no mistake, slotting from close range to level the scores.

Masika's winner

Wazito attacked in the final minute of the stoppage time. Musa Masika had the ball outside the box, made a beautiful solo run before unleashing a shot that beat Njau to hand Wazito the lead.

The victory sees Wazito end a run of eight matches without a win and now they've accumulated 15 points after 20 matches.
