Why Victor Lindelof missed Man United’s game against Chelsea

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named his starting 11 against Chelsea tonight, defender Victor Lindelof was a noticeable miss.

But now, his manager has explained why.

Speaking to MUTV before the game, Ole said: “Victor has fallen ill. Eric has been champing at the bit recently.

“He’s played a couple of behind-closed-door games with the Reserves. He’s ready; hopefully he’ll get a good night.”

However, should he be fit to travel to Belgium during the week, 25-year-old Lindelof could reach his century of appearances in United’s UEFA Europa League game against Club Brugge on Thursday.
