Senegal, Madagascar guests as Arab U-20 Cup kicks off in Saudi Arabia

Senegal and Madagascar are this year's guests at the Arab U-20 Cup that kicked off on Monday in Saudi Arabia.

The two countries were last-minute replacements for Qatar and Comoros who pulled out of the tourney citing various reasons.

The tournament has drawn together 16 Arab countries from Africa and the Middle East and is divided into four pools of four teams each.

Senegal are in Pool D alongside Sudan, Libya and the United Arab Emirates. The Madagascans are in Pool B with Morocco, Djibouti and Bahrain.

In other pools, Saudi Arabia is drawn with Palestine, Egypt and Algeria in Pool C while Pool A has Iraq, Tunisia, Mauritania and Kuwait.

The tournament is organised by Union of Arab Football Federations (UAFA) and it will be held for the first time in eight years. It runs until March 5.
