Enyimba FC striker has confirmed that the prior stadium violence that injured the club’s fans fueled the team’s 4-1 thrashing of Abia Warriors.
The People’s Elephant played Warriors on Monday in a rescheduled fixture after the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) had abandoned the disrupted fixture.
Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi Agwu had also sustained injuries at the unfortunate event.
“We were very angry about the situation, we were not happy with what happened to our fans and our Chairman,” Mbaoma told Brila.
“We just had to put in everything to make sure we make our fans and our Chairman happy most especially our run because we have not lost a game recently, so we don’t intend to lose and we have made up our mind that we have to keep on winning.”
The huge victory lifted the defending champions to ninth place including four games in hand.
