John Terry makes top four prediction after Chelsea loss to Man United

Chelsea legend John Terry believes his former club has lost significant momentum in the race to secure Champions League qualification after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night.

In one of the controversial matches played at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by United thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire. At the start of the season, the Blues enjoyed a 10-point advantage and more importantly, reduced the gap between the two teams to just three points.

The west London club now appears to be struggling to maintain the pace and are now struggling to bag goals after failing to strengthen their squad last month.

"It begins with Spurs at the weekend at home. It’s the perfect game to come and respond if you are a Chelsea supporter or player. They are probably our biggest rivals, a local derby," he said.

"Stamford Bridge will be rocking it’s a big opportunity for players to go and show what this fixture means, show they want to fight for the shirt. It’s an opportunity for certain individuals, maybe there will be a few changes from tonight’s game."

"It will be tough, I just think Spurs and Man United have had a couple of good results and I think Chelsea are on the decline slightly. But I think they have another gear to go to and I think Chelsea will secure that fourth spot."

Only seven points now separate the Blues in fourth place to Arsenal on the 10th.
