N'Golo Kante injury: Chelsea midfielder to miss key fixtures due to muscle injury

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is set to be out for a number of weeks, following an injury he picked against Manchester United on Monday night.

The Frenchman lasted only 10 minutes during the all-important clash, before being replaced by Mason Mount.

According to L’Equipe, the 28-yea-old suffered a grade 2 tear in his Abductor's muscle and will miss up to three weeks of action.

This latest setback will be a major worry for Frank Lampard, who is aiming to finish the Premier League season strongly and earn a top-four finish that will guarantee Champions League football.

The Blues have a tight schedule starting with a weekend London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, before a key Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

The former Leicester man has had a troubled season due to injuries and missed a number of matches at the start of the current season.

He might also miss France's two friendly matches scheduled for next month.

The Frenchman joins Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham in the patient's room, even though long-term absentee Ruben Loftus-Cheek is almost fully fit having stepped up his recovery.
