Former Liverpool player McAteer concerned about West Ham's relegation battle

Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer has insisted that West Ham manager David Moyes doesn't have the players with enough mental strength to battle relegation.

West Ham were 17th on the Premier League standings when Moyes took over the reins from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of December 2019.

However, West Ham are now in a sticky position and they are battling relegation and the McAteer has raised his concern about the depth of the squad and if they will survive the drop this season.

"I think he's just got to find something, he's got to find a way of winning", McAteer said on LFC TV.

"I think when you are down there and you are looking for something then mentally it's a tough place. Players hide, they don't want the ball, things don't go for you and you've got to be brave and know you are in a fight.

"You've got to fight your way out and I don't think he's got enough players who have got enough heart."
