Kenya’s Harambee Starlets reported to camp on Sunday 23 February ahead of their participation in the Turkish Women's Cup tournament.
A section of the ladies made it to the Utalii Hotel in Nairobi to begin a one-week training camp with a local friendly clash slated to take place before they depart for Turkey on March 2, 2020.
The tournament slated for March 2-11 will be part of the preparations the ladies will be taken through ahead of their African Women Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Kenya will play their first match on March 3 against Northern Ireland ranked before taking on Chile and African compatriots Ghana.
It will be the second time the David Ouma coached charges will be participating in an international tournament under the current regime with the first being in 2016 where they were guests in the Internacional de Fútbol Sub-20 de L'Alcúdia (better known as COTIF) in Spain; the team managing a fourth-place finish with Ess Akida (now with Besiktas) being the top scorer of the tournament.
Apart from Kenya, Northern Ireland, Chile and Ghana, other countries expected to grace the tournament is Hungary, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Romania, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
