Zambia Super League: Zesco miss out on second place, Rangers, Eagles & NAPSA fire on

Forest Rangers grabbed a fourth win in five games to keep its charge at the top of the league. The division’s other front horses, Green Eagles and NAPSA Stars, both earned wins to keep the race as edgy as it should be.

Rangers completed a job over middle table side Lumwana Radiants with a 2-1 score. It was the leaders’ first conceded goal in three outings.

Green Eagles did what it had to do to claim top spot with a 2-1 victory over a poor Mufulira who have a raging survival fight to overcome. Eagles’ win also meant leaders Rangers did not go five points clear.

Meanwhile, Zesco failed to maximize games in hand into wins. Team Ya Zika dropped valuable points against Power Dynamos to see only one win in five games.

Full weekend results:

  • ZESCO 1-1 Power Dynamos
  • Forest Rangers 2-1 Lumwana Radiants
  • Kabwe Youth Academy 2-3 NAPSA Stars
  • Green Eagles 2-1 Mufulira
  • Kabwe 2-0 Nakambala Leopards
  • Nkwazi 0-2 Green Buffaloes FC
  • Red Arrows 0-2 Lusaka Dynamos.

Moving ahead, there's midweek action coming on Wednesday afternoon. Zesco will visit Radiants while Zanaco will host Nkwazi. Both games will kick off at 15:00.
