Odion Ighalo should be called out of international retirement if he performs well in his loan spell at Manchester United, according to former Nigeria ace Nwankwo Kanu.
Ighalo hanged his boots after last year's Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where he emerged as the top scorer of the tournament after netting five goals.
"Nigeria needs every good player no matter where they are playing or their age," he said.
"If he performs for Manchester United we will ask him to come back and tell him to forget what he said," he added.
The Nigerian, who joined United during the January transfer window has been impressive in the United shirt as he has scored three goals in seven appearances in all competitions.
