The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have prolonged the suspension of football leagues and tournaments in the country for 15 more days as the country grapples with rising number of Covid-19 cases.
The country's prime minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced the new measures as the number of infections grew to 402 with 20 deaths.
Egypt has also imposed a two-week curfew that starts from 19:00 until 06:00 and is set to take place, starting on Wednesday, March 25.
Following the press conference and the decisions taken, the Egyptian Football Association decided to extend the suspension of the football activities and competitions for two more weeks further as of March 30th.
The outbreak has led to the suspension of football activities in over 100 countries and led to the cancellation of major championships such as African Nations Championship (CHAN), Euro 2020, Copa Libertadores, Tokyo Olympics and UEFA Champions League.
