Yeni Malatyaspor midfielder Afriyie Acquah has revealed that he is ready to make his way back to the Ghana national team according to Ghanasoccernet.
Acquah has not featured for the Black Stars since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which was staged in Egypt.
The 27-year-old has been a standout player for Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig this season but it was strange when former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah chose not to call him up for the 2021 Afcon qualifiers in November 2019.
“I’m hoping to make a return to the national team despite missing the first call-up C.K Akonnor made,” Acquah told Suncity Radio.
“I believe I’m still in his plans because he had a limited or short time to name his squad [for the Sudan double-header].
"I’m aware he went around Europe to monitor some of the players, so I hope he will give me the chance when the need arises."
