Bundesliga: Leverkusen outscore Gladbach, while Dortmund beat Wolfsburg to close the gap at the top

Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havetz is a man on form and Borussia Moenchengladbach learned this the hard way today.

Here is what happened in this match and the other three, as we go into day two of the Bundesliga matchday 27.

Paderborn 07 vs 1899 Hoffenheim

This match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Robert Skov found the back of the net for the visitors in the 4th minute, but it was canceled out by Dennis Srbeny five minutes later.

Paderborn remains at the bottom of the pile after this draw, and Hoffenheim is 9th, with 36 points.

Borussia Moenchengladbach vs Bayer Leverkusen

Kai Havertz was the star of the game yet again, as his side saw off a stubborn Gladbach in a 3-1 win.

The German midfielder found the back of the net first in the 7th minute, before bagging his second through a penalty in the 58th minute.

Marcus Thuram scored for the hosts in the 52nd minute and there were hopes of a comeback before Havertz's penalty and Sven Bender's goal n the 81st minute.

As things stand, Leverkusen is third on the log with 53 points, while Gladbach sits fourth with 52.

Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund

This was another Raphel Guerreiro match!

The right wing-back was on target again in the 32nd minute, before his counterpart on the left, Achraf Hakimi, ensured the win for the visitors in the 78th minute.

Wolfsburg's Felix Klaus was sent off in the 82nd minute for a foul on Manuel Akanji, but Dortmund couldn't capitalize on the extra man in the remaining minutes.

Freiburg vs Werder Bremen

A narrow 1-0 win for the visitors despite a late scare sees them move up the table to 7th with 37 points.

Leonardo Bittencourt scored in the 19th minute, but the hosts equalized in the 90th minute before a VAR check canceled the goal.

Philipp Bargfrede was sent off for a second bookable offense in the 88th minute, and even with six minutes added on, Freiburg could not get an equalizer.

There is one more game today, as Bayern Munich hosts Eintracht Frankfurt, and this is a must-watch as things might just get interesting at the top!
