According to Estudiantes manager Leandro Desabato, even though the club would want to keep Marcos Rojo after his loan spell with the club, they admit that the player might be forced to return to Manchester United after his spell with the club.
“We have to wait, but Rojo is likely to leave,” Desabato said in an interview with Radio Late 931.
“The loan is due, and if Manchester do not want to continue loaning, it’s understandable.”
Rojo joined the Argentine club in order to get game time, but it has been frustrating to him and Estudiantes because he only made one appearance during the six-month loan spell, with injuries and games suspension due to COVID-19 hampering his involvement.
The defender's current deal with Manchester United runs until 2021, and he is 30 years old.
