Former Mali international Frederic Kanoute has tipped Youssef En-Nesyri as the top African striker to keep an eye on as the Spanish LaLiga returns.
The former star, who is Sevilla's all-time top scorer, says the Moroccan youngster has all the attributes to be the best, and possibly replace him.
The 22-year-old has been a key player at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium and is expected to lead the side in the opening match against rivals Real Betis.
“I would say [Youssef] En-Nesyri from Sevilla,” Kanoute told Goal in response to the question which African players he was most looking forward to seeing back in action.
“I think he is an exciting player and striker,” the former Mali frontman added. “He is tall, quick, and agile, in spite of his height.
“Hopefully, he is going to score many goals for Sevilla.”
The youngster was a €25 million arrival in January from Leganes, signing a five-year deal.
He has been impressive in front of goal and has three goals in 11 matches since his arrival.
