Spanish midfielder Santi Carzola has held talks with Turkish giants Besiktas with the aim of joining them in the summer.
Carzola will be a free agent with his contract set to elapse at the end of the season with Villarreal and Arsenal fans have always urged their club to have the player back.
Spanish portal AS reports that the player is in discussions over a move to Turkey has admitted that he knew where he wanted to be in the coming season.
Speaking last month at the Cadena Ser's El Larguero show, Carzola said: “I have already made a decision about my future but right now is not the time to talk about it; my future depends on me.
“Could I play for another club after Villarreal? There are many possibilities for what I will do. I know what I would like and this break has given me time to think and to listen to my body to know when I should be aware of stopping.”
The 35-year-old has bounced back from a career-threatening injury in the last two years, by starring for Villarreal following his departure from the Emirates Stadium.
He agreed to a one-year extension at Villarreal at the start of the season and made his first appearance for Spain in four years last year and has gone to make a further three since.
Cazorla was a big hit at the Emirates Stadium after arriving from Malaga in the summer of 2012 - becoming a key midfielder in this first three seasons.
