Borussia Dortmund Sporting Director, Michael Zorc has revealed that the club has plans in place if Jadon Sancho leaves this summer according to reports.
Zorc, in an interview with German publication Kicker, said that the club is targeting a few players as potential replacements to fill the gap of Sancho's exit - the Bundesliga transfer window will get underway on October 5.
“Should Jadon leave, we would go into the offensive again. There are certainly one or two players that we have our sights on,” he said.
Dortmund Managing Director, Hans-Joachim Watzke added that if the club sells Sancho, they are expecting a potential price hike in each player they will be interested in signing.
“If we give up Sancho, each player we are interested in will be five to ten million euros more expensive than the week before. we have nothing to give away," Watzke told Kicker.
“If he stays with us, then he stays and this is what we wish for from a sporting perspective.”
Sancho's current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and he continues to be at the centre of transfer interest from a number of top European clubs.
The 20-year-old took a while to adapt to life in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals from 52 appearances in his first season across all competitions.
This season has seen great improvement in form - he has scored 20 goals while providing 20 assists from 44 appearances across all competitions.
