In-form Uganda international Farouk Miya wants to finish the Turkish Super Lig on a high after scoring a brace as helped his side Konyaspor FC beat league leaders Basakshir 4-3.
Miya conceded a penalty before he scored a brace as his side went a point above the relegation zone of the Turkish top-flight league.
The 22-year-old Uganda Cranes international took his goal tally to eight this season across all competitions and has set his sight on helping his side avoid the relegation axe.
"Personally, scoring a brace was awesome. It’s was a difficult game for us but we had no other option but to win so that we extend our chances of staying in the league,” Miya exclusively told Football256
“The target is to finish the season in a good way by helping the team finish in a better position and also score more goals,” the forward who was coy on the number of goals he wants to score this season added.
The win took Konyaspor to 14th on 33 points after 32 games played with two games to go. The Anatolian Eagles are just a point above the red line and will hope to wrap up the last two games remaining.
