French giants Paris Saint Germain will challenge Liverpool for the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
Alcantara won’t be renewing his Bayern deal and with only one year left on his current contract, Bayern is expected to cash in on the player instead of losing him for free.
Reports from 10 Sport via Daily Mail say that PSG is currently preparing a £27million bid for the former Barcelona star to provide Liverpool with competition for his signature.
The 29-year-old has decided he wants a fresh challenge away from Munich after spending the last seven years with the Bundesliga giants.
Alcantara has been heavily linked with Liverpool but there have been questions about the authenticity of the interest with the Jurgen Klopp side said to be concentrating in renewing the contract of Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
Alcantara will only be an option if Liverpool won't be able to convince Wijnaldum to stay something that is said to have alerted the likes of PSG to make a move for the Spanish star.
