'Signing Sancho for £108m is a 'bargain', says Premier League star

Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend believes Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho for roughly £108m will be a huge 'bargain'.

The Red Devils have been chasing the winger's signature, and remain hopeful, despite the high fees as quoted by Borussia Dortmund.

The German club have also held their ground, and it promises to be another long battle especially following club's sporting director Michael Zorc's comments on Wednesday that they expect to see Sancho in training next week.

Townsend though believes the youngster is a future Ballon d'Or winner, and he will repay them down the years.

“Jadon Sancho is a world-class player, potentially a future a Ballon d’Or winner,” the Crystal Palace winger told the talkSPORT Breakfast.

“Paying £110m for a player of his age and his quality, I think he’s more than worth that.

“He’s English, he’s young, I think they’re getting a bargain if they are getting him for that price.

“Obviously he’s going to bring a lot of creativity, he’s a very fast and skilful player, he can play on both wings, he’s two-footed, he’s played overseas so can handle that pressure of leaving his family…

“He’s got it all for someone of such a young age – he’s only 20!

“Like I said before, he’s a world-class player and at £110m I think Man United are getting a very, very good bargain here.”

Sancho joined Dortmund three years ago for £8m from Manchester City and has gone on to become one of the most sought after players in Europe.
