Chelsea have reportedly identified Lille's France U21 international goalkeeper Mike Maignan as their top target as they continue with their summer spending.
The Blues have been linked with a number of top goalkeepers including Jan Oblak, Ter Stegen, Dean Henderson, and Nick Pople, but with all reportedly commanding a huge fee, they have sought to find cheaper options.
Coach Frank Lampard has not been impressed by the current number one Kepa Arrizabalaga, who had an erroneous 2019/20 season, and was dropped at some point in favour of Willy Caballero.
Maignan will command a fee in the region of £30m, which will be affordable for Chelsea, who seem to have opened their wallet as they go all out for new players.
No official bid has been made for the Frenchman though, and it's not clear whether or not Arrizabalaga will be dropped entirely or will still remain at Stamford Bridge.
The West London club has already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season, with more expected to arrive this week.
Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva are thought to be close to signing deals with the club, and official announcements could be made this week.
