Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg is the latest team to join the race for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
Lingard is said to be on his way out of United as he seeks more game time with the England midfielder having been linked with a move to Spurs.
Spurs, however, won’t be going for the player unless Dele Alli leaves; the former MK Dons player said to be at loggerheads with manager Jose Mourinho.
Alli has been recently linked with Paris Saint-Germain having been left out of Spurs’ last two matchday squads.
Now ESPN reports that St Petersburg also has some interest in signing Lingard who was not selected in the team’s first game of the season against Crystal Palace.
Tottenham have already secured deals for Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid and Mourinho is open to trimming his squad if it means he is able to bring in more new faces before the transfer deadline on October 5 according to the reports.
The 27-year-old started just nine Premier League games last term and came off the bench 13 times, playing 31 games across all competitions, scoring thrice and assisting once.
