Jesse Lingard has been handed a starting berth in United’s team to face Luton Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
Lingard has been linked with a move away from the team with Jose Mourinho said to be keen in reuniting with the player according to reports in the UK.
In what is a much-changed team from the one that lost to Crystal Palace over the weekend, Dean Henderson has been tasked with the goalkeeping duties at the expense of David De Gea with Grant being his understudy.
Having been responsible for all the goals that United conceded, Victor Lindelof is replaced in the starting team by Eric Bailly who will partner Harry Maguire with Wan Bissaka and Wiliams plying the right and left full-back respectively.
Fred and Matic are the prefered men in the middle of the park with Van De Beek given a starting berth too; Odion Ighalo leading the attack.
Manchester United XI: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Williams; Fred, Matić; Mata, Van de Beek, Lingard; Ighalo.
Substitutes: Grant, Dalot, Mengi, Fernandes, James, Greenwood, Rashford.
