Manchester United are looking for a striker with the club beginning talks with Real Madrid over the services Luka Jovic.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, despite United’s main interest being on the right-wing, a striker to act as a back up to Martial is need at the club.
Jovic has failed to make an impact at Real Madrid since joining in 2019 for €60m from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 22-year-old started in Saturday night’s win away to Real Betis, however, it remains to be seen whether he will spend the 2020/21 in Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
Apart from the Serbian, United have been linked for a move for Edison Cavani but Benfica remains the Uruguayan possible destination.
United have had a frustrating transfer window with Van de Beek being the only new face in the team. Failure to buy has been blamed on United’s refusal to offload their players to create space with others blaming the club’s faults in negotiations.
