PSG 1-0 RB Leipzig: Neymar penalty boost the hosts chances

PSG boosted their chances of making it to the next round of UEFA Champions League after beating RB Leipzig 1-0 on Wednesday night in Paris.

Neymar was to give PSG an 11th minute lead from the penalty spot after Leipzig defender Marcel Sabitzer had been adjudged to have fouled an opponent in his own box.

Leipzig, however, were the better side despite the setback and while they concentrated in the attack, the home side was using counter attacks with Mbappe almost doubling their lead but blazed his effort wide when he had options on his sides.

Di Maria was the next to miss the target by a whiskey following a free-kick. Amadou Diarra almost caught Kaylor Navas with a well-taken effort but the keeper stood his ground as PSG carried the one-goal advantage till the half time break.

In the second half, the Germans had a perfect opportunity to restore parity four minutes after the resumption when Emil Forsberg had only the keeper to beat but he mistimed his shot to send his effort wide.

Rafinha came to replace Di Maria after Leipzig had brought on Mikiele for Orban; the visitors later on bringing in Justin Kulvert for Olmo to boost their attack and PSG replaced Ander Herrera with Veratti late on, the game was good as done.
