Brighton scored a stoppage-time goal to secure a point against Liverpool as the hosts forced a 1-1 draw at Amex Stadium.
Neal Maupay missed a first-half penalty before Mo Salah was denied a goal by the VAR. In the second half, Diogo Jota handed Liverpool the lead, it could have been 2-0 for Jurgen Klopp's men but Sadio Mane's strike could not count.
Pascal Gross secured a point for the hosts as he scored from the spot to draw Brighton level.
William got caught out as he went for a ball with Connolly on the left of the box, and the Irishman's legs got tangled by Williams who went down, with the referee pointing for a spot. Maupay stepped up to take it but his effort was off target as Alisson dived in the opposite direction.
In the 34th minute, Liverpool took the lead through Mo Salah, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for an offside.
In the second half, Diogo Jota handed Liverpool the lead with the Reds patiently building in the final third before the ball kissed the back of the net.
In the 83rd minute, substitute Sadio Mane grabbed the second for the Reds as he headed in from Robertson's resulting free-kick. There was a quick VAR check and replays showed Mane went too soon and was just offside as the free-kick came in.
In the stoppage time, Brighton were awarded another penalty after Danny Welbeck was brought down inside the danger zone. It was Gross who stepped up to take and he sent Alisson in the wrong direction to draw the hosts level.
