🇺🇾 Uruguay’s Sebastián Abreu breaks record after joining his 31st club

“El Loco” has announced he is moving to Brazil to play for Athletic Club, making it his 31st home.

The 44-year-old striker will officially join the newly-promoted Athletic at end of February, additionally, Sebastian Abreu will later return home in April to join IA Sud America Montevideo.

“The former Uruguay international will start playing for Athletic Club in Brazil, with whom he will compete in the Campeonato Mineiro national championship from the end of February following the side’s promotion,” leading Transfer data provider Transfermarkt reported.

“In April, Abreu will return to his home county and join IA Sud America Montevideo. The newly-promoted club confirmed a verbal agreement with the veteran. In the Primera División, Abreu will then meet his son Diego, who signed his first professional contract with rivals Defensor Sporting Club on Monday. However, Defensor are not yet assured of staying in the top division,” added the post.
