A friendly match pitting Gor Mahia and Sudan National team Bright Stars set to be played on Wednesday has been call off.
Gor Mahia were set to take on Bright Stars at the MISC Kasarani but the match has been canceled as players demand salaries. K'Ogalo players are demanding their salary arrears as well as allowances and it is reported they've threatened to boycott the remaining FKF Premier League matches if the club fails to meet their demands.
Stars will now take on FKF Premier League big spenders Wazito FC at Kasarani with the Sudan side preparing for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualification matches. Sudan has been training in Kenya and held their first friendly match against Harambee Stars at Nyayo Stadium that ended 1-0 in favor of the Kenya national team.
K'Ogalo's Secretary-General had promised the team will have their dues paid soon.
"I know players have not been paid but this is being looked into and should be sorted before the end of the month," he told the club's official website.
"There is no notable go-slow as is purported, but the salary issue is a matter of concern and some players are hurting due to this delay in payment," he added.
The Green Army has lost six games so far this season and is currently 8th on the log with 19 points from 13 matches.
