Sam Allardyce is hoping to see Conor Galagher turn down the opportunity to return to Chelsea at the end of the season and stay at West Brom.
Gallagher signed for Chelsea in 2019 and yet to make an appearance for the Blues. On completing his move, the youngster was loaned out to Charlton Athletic where he made 19 appearances and move to Swansea.
The 19-year-old then joined West Brom on loan and is expected to return to Chelsea next season.
"Well if we stay in the Premier League I would hope that he'd be here next season, not at Chelsea," Allardyce said.
"I think he'd be better off having another season with us, rather than the competitiveness and size of Chelsea's squad. So I think he's learning and development level at 19 has been improved. Certainly, I have seen a good player since I've been here. I heard about how good he was before I came.
"I think every day and every game he plays in the Premier League, he gains more and more experience. I think what it does when you lose more than you win, which he's experiencing for the first time, it makes you tougher. It makes you more determined.
"At such a young age to get these disappointments week in and week out, it will only stand him in good stead in improving his career. But he has been a good asset for us.
"I mean he's kept some of the more senior players out and he's only 19. So it shows you his, I'd say, his consistent level of performance has impressed me."
