AS Roma defender Chris Smalling has reportedly been robbed in his own home in Italy.
The former Manchester United star got invaded by three suspects while he was at home with his family - making away with jewelry and cash.
“Chris Smalling and his family were robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Friday morning as armed men entered his home just outside Rome and stole watches, jewellery and cash,” Sky Sports reported.
“The Roma defender missed his side's Europa League quarter-final tie against Ajax on Thursday as he was recovering from knee discomfort.
“According to Italian news agency Ansa, three men entered the home in the Appia area just outside of the capital after removing a grating from the window of the player's bedroom,” the report added.
The 31-year-old made his loan spell at Roma permanent for €15m in October last year.
Meanwhile, Roma will, who will battle Man United in the Europa League semi-finals, will take on Torino in Serie A this weekend.
