Getafe FC midfielder Mauro Arambarri has been linked with a move to English Premier League giants Manchester United.
It has been reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new anchorman and has identified the Uruguayan as a perfect replacement of Nemanja Matic who is said to be on his way to AS Roma.
Apart from Arambarri, United has been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Marcos Llorente, but with his club expected to demand a minimum of €80m for the Spanish international, Arambarri is a much cheaper alternative.
The Uruguayan was linked with a move to Atletico himself at the start of the current campaign, after establishing a reputation as one of the best defensive midfielders in Spain under Jose Bordalas but the interest has now cooled with Dario AS reporting that United are planning a €20m swoop.
The 25-year-old currently has a release clause of €25m but United is confident they can reduce that price down due to Getafe economic concerns this summer.
Representatives of Manchester United have already contacted Mauro Arambarri’s environment to convey their interest in him first hand. Arambarri fits what Solskjær is asking for and the Norwegian manager ‘already has reports on the footballer’. #MUFC [@diarioas via @Sport_Witness]
