Manchester United is monitoring the situation of defender Nathaniel Ake at Manchester City.
The 26-year-old central defender joined City last summer from AFC Bournemouth but while a lot was expected of him, he has rarely featured for the Citizens owing to the array of talents in his position with some injury early in the season not doing him any favors.
Before joining City, there were reports that United we interested in the player with Solskjaer spotted on camera informing the defender that the Red Devils are on the lookout for a left-footed center-back during the latter parts of the 2019-20 season, while Ake was still at Bournemouth.
The Sun now reports that Solskjaer is still interested in the player as they look to rope in a center back to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of their defence.
Ake has only featured in just 13 matches and appears to be below the pecking order at the club with John Stone and Reuben Diaz the preferred center-back partnership for Pep Guardiola.
Apart from Ake, United has been linked with a lot of defenders this summer with Pau Torres of Villarreal said to be their topmost target in the position.
