Jadon Sancho deal to Man United stalls

Jadon Sancho proposed move to Manchester United has stalled as Ed Woodward is yet to return to the negotiation table.

It had been reported that United made an opening offer of £67 million last week which Dortmund rejected and it is now emerging that the English giants are yet to return with an improved bid.

Sport Bild confirms that no official bid was made last week and despite the gap between the two sides not being a huge one, no progress has been made since.

"So far there has not been a personal meeting. The first round of negotiations in transfer poker for Jadon Sancho (21) took place at the beginning of last week without the two club bosses having to leave their city.

"BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (61) learned in Dortmund what Manchester’s CEO Ed Woodward (49) is willing to pay for the offensive star. The poker bosses are not quite as far apart as the 691 kilometers the crow flies between the clubs’ offices. However, the talks are stalling," the German tabloid noted.

The article then goes on to explain that United wants to bridge the overall gap with bonuses and add-ons, but the Bundesliga club insists on a minimum of £77m being in cash.

Despite the impasse between the clubs, the tabloid admitted that both the player and United have agreed on personal terms with the English winger set to earn a sum of £13 million per year in his five-year deal.

Dortmund is already preparing for a life without the player with PSV Eindhoven’s Donyell Malen lined up as Sancho's replacement should the player return to the Premier League.
