Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted at a possibility of Raphael Varane leaving the club this summer but insists they have not received any official bid yet.
The defender has been linked with a move away from the club, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea credited with interest.
Florentino Perez: “We’ve not received any official bid for Raphael Varane. He’s at the Euros now then we will see what happens - if he wants to leave the club this summer, he’ll say it”. ⚪️ #RealMadrid #MUFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 24, 2021
Man United among clubs interested, he’s in the list but NO bid yet.
The Frenchman has one year left on his current deal at the club and is yet to accept the new offer on the table.
Real Madrid, and Carlo Ancelotti in particular, will not want to sell the 28-year-old this summer, having allowed captain Sergio Ramos to leave last week.
If they fail to convince him to sign a new deal, they will be forced to cash on him or risk losing him on a free next summer.
In the case he departs, Madrid will have David Alaba, Nacho Fernandez, and Eder Militao as the obvious options at center-back next season.
