Chelsea is considering a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
Rice was one of the star performers for England in Euro 2020 where they were the losing finalists and it is believed that Chelsea sees him as a player that can be a valuable addition to their side.
It is not the first time the Blues have been linked with the midfielder with their previous boss Frank Lampard admitting that he wanted to bring the player to Stamford Bridge last summer but a deal didn't materialize because they had spent £225 million on new players.
Eurosport now claims that Chelsea is considering a move this window as they feel the addition of the player can help them push for the Premier League title.
Rice has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge for some time, and it is reported that the midfielder could move on from the Hammers in the quest for silverware.
The Blues are prepared to offer around £200,000-a-week as wages for the midfielder but he won’t come on the cheap with the Hammers valuing him at £80m.
His signing though might be a surprise to many as the club has so many defensive midfielders that include Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Billy Gilmour who has since moved to Norwich.
Rice was released from the Blues academy at the age of just 14.
