Manchester United's target Raphael Varane is reportedly set for fateful talks with his new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Varane is seemingly set to follow his long-term central defence partner Sergio Ramos out of the club. As Futaa has reported over the last months, Varane is believed to be looking forward to starting a new career with Manchester United. With one year left on the 28-year-old Frenchman's deal, negotiations with the two clubs have not been simple.
According to AS, as reported by the Express, Varane, who is still on vacation after the 2020 Euros, is expected to face persuasion from his new boss Ancelotti.
"According to AS, he will be back in action less than a week from now, which means crucial talks with returning Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti are on the horizon.
"It is believed that an improved contract offer by Los Blancos would give Varane food for thought, although that does not appear to be on the table.
"As such, reports indicate that he would like to leave the Bernabeu as soon as possible to begin his pre-season preparations in Manchester," the outlet added.
Meanwhile, Man United will take on Queens Park Rangers in a preseason friendly this weekend.
