The signing of Kristoffer Klaesson from Valerenga for an undisclosed amount has bolstered Leeds' goalkeeping ranks.
✍️ #LUFC is pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson from Vålerenga— Leeds United (@LUFC) July 31, 2021
Despite his youth, the 20-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him on the team until the summer of 2025.
Klaesson made 56 appearances for Norway after making his debut two years ago, and he has also represented his country at youth level on a regular basis.
Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa needed competition for first-choice Illan Meslier after goalkeeper Kiko Casilla left Elland Road for Elche on loan earlier this month.
After Lewis Bate, Junior Firpo, Jack Harrison, Sean McGurk, and Amari Miller, Norway Under-21 international Klaesson is the club's sixth summer signing.
