Karim Benzema bagged a hattrick as Real Madrid marked their return to the Santiago Bernabeu with a 5-2 over Celta Vigo.
Celta got off to the brighter start with Santi Mina finding the net after only three minutes but Los Blancos pulled level as Benzema ghosted into the penalty area and dispatched a neat pull-back from Fede Valverde.
The visitors regained their lead again as Cervi capitalized on a mistake in the home team’s defense and tapped in on 32 minutes but Benzema was there again to restore parity just after the halftime break.
Vinicius Junior gave the hosts a deserving lead with a smart finish on 55 minutes before debutant Eduardo Camavinga who replaced Eden Hazard on the hour mark taking just ten minutes to put his name on the scoresheet.
And it was Benzema who completed his hat-trick late on from the penalty spot with the win taking them to the top of the standings.
