Lionel Messi doesn't believe Paris Saint Germain are Champions League contenders.
The Argentine superstar moved to Paris last summer to help PSG win the trophy that has eluded them over the years and while many believe they have a squad capable of matching the best in Europe, Messi has other ideas.
"Everyone thinks that Paris Saint-Germain will win the Champions League, but there are more teams. There is Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid who always do well, Bayern Munich and Inter. I don't know if I forgot any," Messi told France Football via Marca.
The former Barcelona man however believes that they have a capable squad but they will have to gel for a better understanding if they are to win accolades.
"We have some great individual players, but we still need to get to know each other well to form a team. To win titles it's important that you play as a team.
"This is what makes me say that we're a step behind in comparison with all these clubs who have more collective experience than us," he added.
PSG are currently placed top of Group A of the Champions League with four points; the same number of points as Club Brugge with Manchester City being third on three points. RB Leipzig are bottom after losing all their two games.
